Excellent Sail from San Carlos to Loreto

Excellent Sail from San Carlos to Loreto

We left San Carlos on the 5th of December in the afternoon around 3 p.m. and averaged 6 knots on our way to isla Coronado, the northern most island in the Bay of Loreto Marine Park. We sailed over 60 miles before the wind died on us and thus had to crank up the Kamakazi, divine wind, 38 horse power yanmar. The Windsplitter handled like a dream and I used no atuopilot on the trip over during the sail and never touched the helm. The boat balanced perfectly in the 3 to 4 foot beam seas so we simply trimmed the sails locked the helm and had a few cold Noche Buena cervezas, the best bear in Mexico, as we cruised off into the sunsett. We even caught up to a monohull that had left san carlos a good hour before we did. Nothing like a trimaran on a reach!!!!!
